Perennial bunchgrass. Grows 2 to 3 feet tall. Its major uses include pasture and hay. Benchmark’s forage quality and yield is high under good management. Benchmark is a early maturing orchardgrass, with good rust resistance levels. Seed should be planted in September at 15 to 20 lb/A, or 4 to 8lb/A preferably Mixed with a legume. In northern areas, plantings are sometimes made in early spring.
