How do I determine the size of the area I need to seed?

How do I determine the size of the area I need to seed?

It is important to know the size of the lawn area to be seeded in order to purchase the correct amounts of seed, lime and fertilizer.

Use the grid below to draw a "lawn map" to help calculate the size of your lawn.

Be sure to calculate the areas NOT to be seeded, which would include your house, driveway, walkways, patios and any other areas you do not wish grass to grow. These areas should be subtracted from your total area.

After you have measured and calculated your areas, use the calculator below:

A. TOTAL LOT SIZE

Length ______ Ft. x Width ______ Ft. = Area A ______ Sq. Ft.

B. HOUSE AREA

Length ______ Ft. x Width ______ Ft. = Area B ______ Sq. Ft.

C. DRIVEWAY

Length ______ Ft. x Width ______ Ft. = Area C ______ Sq. Ft.

D. OTHER "NON GRASS" AREAS

Length ______ Ft. x Width ______ Ft. = Area D ______ Sq. Ft.

TOTAL AREA TO BE SEEDED

(Square Feet) = Area A, minus Areas B, C, & D
